Vance Monument rededicated

ASHEVILLE, NC -- A monument to Zeb Vance, North Carolina governor and senator, was erected on Pack Square in downtown here more than 100 years ago. Normal weathering required that the monument be restored to preserve its condition.

The Freemasons of North Carolina helped create the obelisk and dedicated the monument with Masonic ceremony. They repeated the ritual on June 6, marking the successful refurbishing of the landmark
